Designer: Fara Boico
Location: Roslyn, Nassau County
Project Duration: 3 Weeks
Looking for home bar ideas for your basement, bonus room, home theater or lounge area? Our latest bar design is nothing short of stunning and turned an empty room into a central location for entertaining.
Our Fara Boico was tasked with designing a custom bar for a home where the family entertains quite a bit. She incorporated different materials with several different textures to create one cohesive overall transitional look.
Starting with the cabinetry Fara used a wood grain textured laminate flanking the sides of the freestanding bar with a crocodile skin textured porcelain, framed in a glass mosaic. All topped off with a crocodile skin textured counter top.
Utilizing two wall mounted wine racks gives the appearance of bottles just floating in air. To continue the look Fara added floating LED lighted shelves in order to display the homeowner’s favorite liquor bottles. All highlighted by the reflections of a mirror on the back wall.
Adorning the cabinetry are lineal pull hardware wrapped in leather which Boico used to bring in yet another texture.
What bar would be complete without appliances? First a bar sink because a wet bar is always the best way to go; when plumbing allows. Next an ice maker to ensure an ample supply of ice to keep our guests cocktails cold. Last but certainly not least a Sub-Zero under counter refrigerator to store beer, water or mixers.
At the heart of every party is a gathering place. What better place to entertain and gather than around a custom bar?
