Designer: Fara Boico
Location: Plandome, Nassau County
Project Duration: 3 Weeks
Whether it’s that first cup of coffee or a dinner for ten, this Transitional kitchen design located in Plandome, Long Island gives off an effortless vibe. In just three weeks, designer Fara Boico brought the client’s vision to life. The existing kitchen was fully gutted and expertly redesigned except for the existing wood floors which were meticulously protected throughout the entire project.
The monochromatic theme eliminates any visual noise, allowing the well-planned layout and crisp white-and-gray palette to stand out.
High-end stainless steel Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances play a big role in this Transitional kitchen design. Featured are two double wall ovens stacked with a warming drawer which really takes away the pressure of making sure all those essential dishes are ready at the same time. A gas cooktop with a commercial style hood/ventilation system would make any five-star chef jealous. The under counter microwave drawer sits nicely in the center island. The large refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and countertop convection toaster oven finish off the design.
Strategically placed in front of the yard facing windows is a deep farmhouse style sink with pull-down faucet and built-in soap dispenser. Slab LG Rococo marbleized quartz countertops and full height-backsplashes impart a cohesive element throughout the entire space. Linear
cabinet pulls and square knobs are the perfect finishing touch to the custom Classic Kitchen and Bath Center cabinets.
An unexpected combination of mirror and stone creates a bold mosaic cooktop backsplash; a look that is repeated at the built-in desk/workstation. It was very important for the client to have a workstation in their kitchen to help keep the busy family organized. We designed a custom-made workspace to look like a piece of furniture and not just an extension of the kitchen.
Both the center work-island and floor-to-ceiling pantry adorned with crown molding provide generous storage. White/chrome bar height chairs and a chrome light fixture above the island play well against iconic white painted Shaker style cabinet doors of the side cabinets. Pot and pan drawers add convenience beneath the cooktop and as an elegant finishing touch; mirrored cabinets feature custom mullions and LED under-cabinet mounted puck lights create a warm glow in the evening.
The heart of every home is the kitchen and we couldn’t be any happier with these results.
